Du behöver inte starta den det där ska du göra utan att starta den bara vrida på tändning med knappen intryckt. Jag har gjort som det står i instruktionsboken och det funkar. Har ställt min på 11000 vilket jag tycker känns/funkar bäst.
Instructions for programming the Cockpit Dashboard Display may be found here:

Unfortunately, while attempting to cancel the "oil can" (change due) warning, I inadvertently deactivated my tachometer and could not figure out how to re-activate it until a friend translated the original German document.
Two important sentences were omitted from the English translation. The following belongs just after the 5th step (just prior to "Service Resetting and Settings").
"This removes the gages one after another (means that procedure has to be repeated...)
If there's only ODO left the next time you do that operation all functions will re-appear."
Even with this additional information, the procedure was confusing until I played with it for a while. Hopefully, the following will help clarify things:
Firstly, the document talks about two completely separate "programming modes." Entering the first mode requires that the engine temporarily be started. This mode is only used to activate / deactivate the specific dashboard display screens that you can scroll through.
In this first mode, each time you press and hold hold the black mode button and flash the high beam five times, the current screen being displayed will become de-activated. (But you won't notice it is missing until the next time you scroll through the other screens with the red button.) Note: You only need to start the engine once to deactivate as many screens as you want.
It is impossible to de-activate the ODO (odometer) screen. Attempting to do so re-activates *all* the display screens. (In my case, this is what caused the two lap timer screens to appear the first time I attempted this procedure, and also how I re-activated my tachometer.)
Accessing the second programming mode (the one used to reset the oil service warning) must be done without starting the engine.
Special thanks to Martin Kieltsch for the translation!
