Var på en liten utflykt i Schweiz och norra Italien i veckan.
Ett antal pass över 2000m.
Startade i närheten av Chur i Schweiz, och sedan
över Albula pass(2315) -> Bernina pass(2328) -> passo Forcola(2315)
-> passo Foscagno(2000 -ish) -> passo Stelvio(2757) -Umbrail pass(2501)
-> Ofen pass(2149) -> Flüela pass(2383) -> Davos -> Chur.
Har redan skrivit lite på ett annat forum och orkar inte översätta ...
men det är ju bilderna som är viktiga...

Start of day 9.00 in Disentis camping.
Drove road 19 back to Reichenau about 50 km. (I changed camping place, cause the one I wanted to stay su**ed, but would have been better placed for the tour I had planned).
First part just transport to get to my starting point. But transport in these surroundings never gets booring. The scenery is amazing. Everywhere!
Then Highway 13 down to Thusis then turn of the highway in direction St:Moritz.
This will take you to Tiefencastel, and there the road to the first pass of the day, the Albula pass, starts.
The problem with bike riding in these mountains is, you'd want to get of and take photos every 100 meters or so.. I think you can take a week doing this tour, I did it in one day.
Around 420 km in total. A bit to much really. I can't remember ever before wanting the curves to stop... dreaming of a straight highway... lol.
Roads in Switzerland are in general, great. Even on the smallest mountains roads, the surface is in very good condition, and almost never any gravel or dirt on the road.
This becomes obvious as soon as you enter Italy.... roads are crap.
Road signs in Switzerland are ok. The only thing missing is distances. City names/places are there, but almost never any distances... go figure?
And the road signs in Italy are, mostly, non existent. Sometimes you can find very small signs with the road number. But that's it. Don't expect a sign with the city you want to go to.
On the small mountain serpentines the curves are really tight. 1st gear common. You'll need a good sports bike or maybe a off-rader/motard to make the most fun out of these roads. You don't se many big touring bikes up here,
don't think they'll be able to make these turns.
I think a proper touringbike might be great for some things, but in these curves they'll have problems. It's thight. 1st gear and you'll have to use most of the other directions lane to make the turn... without falling over the edge...
There's another issue...
I don't know how to motivate me to ever drive anywhere else again .... !
(I hate gps... they always lead you on the wrong way! Or the most boring way...)
