Roadracing Irland - Vilket race ska man åka till?

Tänkte försöka ta mig till Nordirland och kolla på Real Roadracing till våren eller sommaren.
Har inte varit där tidigare. Vilket race ska man åka till? Någon med erfarenhet?
Kommer antagligen att åka med grabben så det blir flyg dit.

Det kan inte bli fel med någon men hade satsat på något av dom mindre mindre bonn racen som Skerries,med bitvis bredd som en halv gång/cykel bana.. Ulster och Northwest hade jag skippat.
Mer grass root racing blir det inte. Egentligen hade jag tänkt besöka någon av dessa men det blev Iomtt istället.

Vi var på Skerries för ett par år sedan, jag ville åka och se på ett mindre race och det var fantastiskt. Däremot var det inte så många stjärnor där. Nära till Dublin men vi valde egentligen det för att det just då passade i tiden.
Vi passade även på att köra ett varv på Ulster och tanken att ge järnet på en Superbike eller vad som helst är svår att ta in. Ännu svårare var det att fatta efter att ha kört runt på Armoy som är som en riktigt dålig cykelväg.
Sök på Youtube, använd BBC i sökningen så kommer det upp fint producerade race.
Om jag åker igen kommer jag försöka se ett race söder om Dublin, Cork exempelvis. Mest för att se en annan del av Irland. Fast Armoy vore fränt och det skulle nog vara mitt förstaval om det inte vore för att jag varit och tittat där, kollat på monumentet, tagit en pint på Joey`s bar osv..
En annan bra grej är att läsa på mer, kanske prenumerera på Road Racing Ireland, jag önskar jag gjort det för då hade det varit lättare att hänga med.
Sen smakar Guinness fantastiskt där, friskt otroligt nog.

På våren hade jag nog rekomenderat Tandagree. På sommaren hade jag valt Armoy. Man flyger enkelt till Belfast med easy jet-tar buss till Antrim-tåg till Ballymoney och hoppar av på Joeys pub. Har varit rätt "stora" förare där när jag varit på Armoy så som Guy Martin, bröderna Dunlop och Jerry McWilliams m.fl. Hur det blir iår vet man inte än. Men Armoy är rätt populärt bland många förare där över. Bra depå och trevligt race med Nord Irlands längsta/snabbaste hopp på. Nära till Dark hedges med där.

Tycker nog inte som Grandell att Armoy är som cykelstig. Snarare som vanlig 70-sträcka på landet runt en liten by. Mid Antrim och Killalane tyckte jag var mycket värre att köra på.

2022 hade jag rekomenderat Cookstown och Ulster Grand Prix då båda fyller 100år då. Det är dom älsta racen i Nord Irland (som fortfarande är aktiva). Cookstown brukar dock ibland upplevas som lite kallt och blåsigt då det är tidigt i april. Ulster Grand Prix hade jag nog rekomenderat för nykomlingar då upplevelsen av farten där är enorm och där är en ganska bra depå. Nakdelen där är att dom tar bra betalt för biljetter för raceveckan och extra betalt för att komma in till depån mm. Iår kör dom inget race dock då dom haft 2 dåliga år med dåligt väder med dåligt med publik. Nere på bara 10.000 emot upp till 80.000 när det är som bra och med resultat att dom haft svårt hitta huvudsponsor till iår mm. Så inget UGP iår.

Jag har kört SportHoj både till Republiken och Ulster men inte, än, kollat någon tävling på plats.

Men varje år försöker kolla NW200 som sänds direkt på BBC.

Där kan man hänga med ganska bra vad som händer när det gäller motorcykelsport!

8-9 augusti East Coast (Killalane)

Iår är det färre race i norr och fler i söder.

Tandagree fyller 60år. Så gissar att det kommer vara många som kör där.

*OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CDMCC*

After long discussions held between the directors of Cookstown & District Motorcycle club (Road Racing) Ltd,it is with deepest regret that the decision has been made to postpone the Cookstown 100 races which were to be held on the 24th /25th April 2020 to later in the year, with a provisional date being pencilled in for the 11th /12th of September 2020, subject to approval by relevant authorities.

We have made this decision on a precautionary basis due to the situation which faces us all with the current coronavirus outbreak. We feel that with the outbreak predicted to get worse in the forthcoming weeks, it is in the best interests of riders, spectators and general public within the area to take this approach and act with due care and attention for anyone who may have been attending the event.

Please note that this decision has been not been taken lightly but we feel that it is important to let the competitors/teams and travelling spectators know at the earliest opportunity, so they can make alternative arrangements or possibly transfer any bookings which they have made. We would also like to thank our sponsors for their understanding at this hard time.
We would also like to stress that this decision has been made on a voluntary basis, and has not been a directive from any organisation.

I would also like to inform the public, that all other events planned in conjunction with race week, such as soapbox event, vintage motorcycle run, church service and press night is cancelled also until further notice.

On behalf of the Cookstown club apologise for any inconvenience caused by this decision and hope that anyone effected by this understands the difficult position which the club has found itself in.

Tandagree 100 inställt!

***Press Release - 60th Anniverysary Around A Pound Tandragee 100 Postponed***

First and foremost, the safety of our society, more than ever, has to come first.

We have been liaising with our governing body the MCUI UC, the MCUI UC Medical Liaison Officer, our local ABC Council, our supply chain and the Public Health Agency in relation to the current unprecidented situation regarding Covid 19. Today’s announcement to postpone the Tandragee 100 National Motorcycle Road Races has been taken with the intention of keeping people safe.

It is important not only to consider the safety of our volunteers and officials, local residents and landowners, local businesses, the competitors and of course our spectators but also the wider general public. If we are to collectively delay the spread of the disease, ‘flatten the curve’ and ultimately reduce the impact Covid 19 will have in the longer term we believe to gather in large numbers for our event is not appropriate given the circumstances.

At a time when our Health & Social Care Services are putting plans in place to manage increased demand we must not place an additional strain on their precious resources. Many of our event medical team and first aiders will be needed to contribute to the HSC response across Northern Ireland and we also would not wish to potentially divert HSC ambulance and hospital resources to deal with any event related requirements. To all those involved in the response to Covid 19 we thank you.

As a Club we are of course disappointed to have to take this decision to postpone our 60th Anniversary Celebrations, however, it is the right thing to do. We believe it is important to let everyone involved know at the earliest opportunity, so they can make alternative arrangements or possibly transfer any bookings which they may have made. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal sponsors for their understanding and support. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this announcement causes.

Our message to everyone is to put your health first, don’t take any unnecessary risks. Keep up to date with and follow the advice given by the Public Health Agnecy. Think about the vulnerable in our society and act with compassion towards each other.

To anyone who is currently affected by Covid 19 and to those who will later become so, you are in our thoughts and prayers not only now but in the coming weeks and months.
