K1200S tråden.
I alla fall om man skall tro en Spansk MC tidning som ställt dem mot varandra.
February 8, 2005.
Acceleration 100m: K1200= 4,3 s R1= 4.7 s
Acceleration 400m: K1200= 9.9 s R1= 10.2 s
Acceleration 1000m: K1200= 18.7 s R1= 18.5 s
Acceleration 0-100 km/h: K1200= 2.7 s R1= 2.9 s
Acceleration 0-150 km/h: K1200= 4.2 s R1= 4.8 s
Stopping distance from 80 km/h: K1200= 17.8m R1= 21m
Swinging between 10 cones at a distance of 4 meter: K1200= 8.2s R1= 8.01s
Kort summering av Luis (Spansk kille) på pelicanparts form:
- They decide to check the sport abilities of the K against the winner of their Superbike test, the R1.
- In order to do that they set some tests on a closed road: acceleration, braking from 80 km/h to 0 (done five times, they keep the best one), and the cones test (10 of them, 4m apart from each other).
- Braking: The R1's brakes are powerful but difficult to dosify. You can lock them, lose the front end or do a stoppie. The K's are powerful, and combined with the longer wheelbase, the duolever and the ABS give better distances and (maybe more important) a safer feeling, specially for unexperienced riders or difficult situations.
- Acceleration: The problem with the R1 is that it wheelies all the time, so there's where it loses ground. After 1 km the R1 beats the K.
- Cones: The R1 is the winner (less weight, more aggresive geometries), but the K is close to it.
- Feelings: The comments from proffesional riders used to the R1 is that the K is surprisingly agile, fast and safe. It is so stable that is seems slower than it actually goes. Overall they are very surprised to see such a heavy and big bike behave so well. They don't say that it's a better or worse sport bike than the R1, but they are impressed.
