...eller ska detta in i Silly Season för 2024 kanske?
Augusto Fernández and Pedro Acosta confirmed in MotoGP for 2024.
Augusto Fernández and Pedro Acosta will compete in MotoGP next season. The confirmation is from KTM's CEO, Stefan Pierer, who didn't say in which teams they will be placed.
Currently, the Austrian manufacturer has its factory team with Brad Binder and Jack Miller, as well as the satellite team GasGas Tech3 with Fernández and Pol Espargaró. Acosta competes in the Moto2 World Championship riding for Red Bull KTM Ajo.
When asked whether Fernández deserves a second season in MotoGP, Pierer said to SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘Absolutely. That's why we have already extended his contract. He already has a contract. And Pedro Acosta also has one. And we guarantee that he will be on a MotoGP KTM in 2024’.
Espargaró's move to a test rider role is far from certain, and with the current rider line-up KTM may need more space to place Acosta. Pierer told about that: ‘The fact is that Pedro Acosta will be in a MotoGP KTM in 2024. Wherever it is. And if I need an extra seat, everything will sort out by itself’.
