Texas-Oilfield Employer Shot, Killed During Salary Fight
Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting which occurred at an oilfield work yard south of San Antonio in Atascosa County Thursday morning
Investigators arrived at the scene before 11a.m. off I-37 and FM 536.
They say two men - described as an employer and a business partner/employee - were meeting at OGPM, LLC to discuss salaries when they began to argue.
According to deputies, the argument got heated and that's when the employer reached for his gun.
"The business owner allegedly attempted to reach out of his jacket pocket to pull out a pistol, the employee told him over and over again not to pull it out, whenever he pulled his gun out, the employee pulled his gun out and shot 3 to 5 times," says Captain Matthew Miller, Atascosa County Sheriff's Office.
The victim is from Deer Park, Texas. As for the shooter, he is 43 years old and from Clyde, Texas. Deputies say he immediately called 911 after the shooting. He will remain in custody until the investigation is complete.
