Listening to Yamasaki, I start to realize that frame welding is a kind of race too – just like the riders on the track, Yamasaki must maintain perfect concentration, sometimes holding his breath as he executes maneuvers requiring absolute fingertip control, clearing each fresh corner or problem as it comes.
To complete a single racing frame takes about 50 hours. If you compare the times involved, his race is quite a bit harder than the one that faces the riders on their bikes.
