vermeulen körde gsv-r800 08 på onsdagen. Capirossi ska testa den nästa vecka.
kawasaki och yamaha har jag ingen aning om.

Inte säkert satellit-teamen får 08'or ens nästa år, men man kan ju hoppas iaf, med tanke på vilka problem man haft med 07'an.
Repsol har vart nr1-teamet länge, så alla nya prylar och hojar har alltid kommit till dem först.

Can you tell us about your first impressions after your first ride on this new bike?

This is a very different bike, we had very different sensations. I think that we still have to check out all the aspects on this bike in greater detail.


Compared to the 2007 bike what important differences would you emphasise after this first ride?

Above all the differences are on the rider position. That is the biggest difference I noticed.


The Repsol Honda Team announced on Monday that it was going to continue with Michelin next year. Satisfied with the decision?

This was a very important decision, so we will have to see if we get them to work well. We are going to try and make this into the right decision, because we are dying to make them work. I felt hungry and decisive, but obviously the results were missing.


Have you done any tests with new tyres? Do you think that things are going in the right direction after the last few races and this practice?

I tried a few different combinations but they were not new tyres. In the last few races we improved, but we are still far from having perfect races every weekend.


Could you tell us about the best moments of the 2007 season?

We have not had any great moments, and so I can only give you one. For me a moment is not a day, it is a certain period. We cannot say that we have had great moment this year.


And the worst moments?

Halfway through the year when the tyres were not really working at many circuits.


Fifth last year in your first season and two victories, in the end this season you were runner-up with another two victories, and all this after a very difficult season. Satisfied in the end?

Obviously much more satisfied than last year, but seeing the level we were at this year we are not at all satisfied. There were too many problems, although you always have to see the positive side…Referring to the question, no, not completely happy.


The 2007 season finished in Valencia last Sunday, just two days later you have started the 2008 season. Is this rhythm not tiring physically and mentally? How can you maintain your concentration without feeling “fed up” after a very long hard season?”

That is a question of having your mind open and getting used to it. We must be aware of what we are practising and we have to find the best option.


In the last few years Valencia has become, as it is the final race in the calendar, a sort of final exam for the riders where the fans are the examiners. Before going to the Circuito Ricardo Tormo did you expect your top marks and the support that the fans gave you over the whole weekend?

The truth is that you always feel the support and affection from the public. I have always had a very special relationship with them, because it is very different from the criticism that I have seen in the press. I liked to see how the fans have supported us so well, especially myself.


They say you learn from your mistakes. Do you think that you have learnt much, the team, HRC and yourself, this year?

My team yes. My team has learnt a lot, learning what they have to do, in what way…but there are so many working in this team, in this factory, that it is difficult to know whether the same mistakes will be repeated.


Finally, can you tell us about your plans in the next two months, from now to the end of the year?

Tests in Jerez, and then a little rest. Holidays and to enjoy myself at Christmas.

"The first thing that surprised me with this bike is how easy it is to change directions and how well it responds to the rider's input. It's a small and light bike. The engine is also much stronger, but today I only had a first taste of things to come. Now the important thing is to adapt myself to this new machine and be up to the challenge. What is your first impression of the new bike?

I am quite impressed with it, this is the first time I have ridden it. It seems to be nearly ready, but obviously we still have a lot of work to do on it and to continue developing it, but it is a good start. If you ask me in a couple of weeks I will be able to tell you more.

How does it compare it to the 2007 bike?

It is very similar, there are no big differences. Perhaps the biggest is the use of pneumatic valves which are attracting all the attention. I like the rider position, the handlebars and the ride which are all very similar to the 2007. I also like the weight transfer; it is not so sudden and not as aggressive as on the previous bike.

The Repsol Honda Team announced a few days ago that it would keep its ties with Michelin are you satisfied with this decision?

Yes. They have a lot of work to do but that is because they can improve. They have not been at the level expected this year but I am dying to see the material that we are going to use next year. Bridgestone has been ahead of us the whole year and I hope that next season we are stronger. The level this year was not good enough.

Have you found something new in the tyre tests this time?

It may be, but the most important thing right now is to get used to the bike before thinking about testing new tyres.

How hard was it to lose the number one?

It was painful, something hard to swallow, above all because of how I lost it. I would have preferred to have been fighting and to have been stronger, but we were unlucky the whole season. It was a hard blow, I am not going to lie, it was frustrating for the team because we had hopes of doing really well. We can do things much better. What can I do? Just get over it and go out to win next year.

Are you ready to fight for the number one again?

Of course. This was a very tough year. I am not at all pleased. Next year I have to ride at a much higher level, hope to be stronger and to have much more fun.

What was the best moment in the 2007 season?

I would say the pole in Portugal. It was a good reward after what happened there the year before. And it was good for the team because I have confidence in them and they have confidence in me too. The podiums in Holland, Germany and Czech republic were also good moments.

And the worst?

Not finishing at home, in Laguna Seca, that was very hard. The truth is that there were many bad moments, this what top class racing is like. But I realised that you have to learn from both the bad as well as the good and I am dying to get back on the top.

No time to rest, the 2007 season just ended last Sunday and on Tuesday you were preparing for 2008. Is it too much?

No. It is not an easy job, but I know there are a lot worse around. Being a Honda factory rider in MotoGP is a privilege, and I am not going to cry about the work I have. We have travelled a lot in the last two months and in the next two, that is a bit of a drag, it is not all smiles. You are always moving from one place to another, but that goes with the pay cheque. I cannot say that it is too much.

It seems that Honda is making a big effort to be competitive again, but now the bike is new does that mean that you start from zero again?

It is a completely different bike. I would say that in many aspects we are beginning from zero, but from a higher base level. Honda's commitment in the bad times encouraged me, when the results did not come. They did not give up and that shows what a great company it is.


Tell us about your schedule until the end of the year?

Really the season never ends. I am going to the Milan Motorbike show, then to New York for the launch of the MTV movie “Kentucky Kid” on TRL, an important programme in the USA to promote it. After that I will go straight to practice in Malaysia. Then my elder brother gets married on Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I have to go to make sure he goes through with it. We are going to have a great time. Finally there is practice in Jerez and then in December everything will slow down, although I have some commitments with sponsors. I will try to spend some time at home and do some physical training.

tycker hayden hade bättre kommentar om de nya hondan. pedrosa sa bara typ att körställningen var annorlunda. men pedrosa e så liten hehe så han kanske känner sånt lättare vem vet...

hayden hade tur 06 då rossi hade tekniska prob sen vurpade endel. och stoner vurpade jämt. medans hayden var hyffsat jämn men det är inte ofta man ser han överst på pallen för han är inte bäst tyvärr..nåja detta har inget med vintertest att göra men skulle skriva av mig.
