Bloody hell - where do we start!
A good number of yamaha parts are interchangeable:
Brakes - you can bolt straight on R1, R6, thundercat, fazer etc blue spot front calipers (master cylinders also fit but i don't see the need)
front end - the thundercat front end (with fully adjustable) suspension fits straight in (spacers needed for TRX wheel). R1 and YZF front ends fit in with a bit of machining
arse end - YZF swinging arms and wheels (so you get 180 section tyres) are a favourite
engine - post 96 TDM850 engines ar said to be a straight fit (discussed elsewehere on this forum)
wheels - pretty sure some FZR400 & FZR600 wheels are identical
chain and sprockets - if you fancy tinkering with gearing, TDM 900 sprockets fit (and give you more choice of teeth)
headlight - FZR 400 twin projector headlight slots straight in (I needed minor mods to the wiring on mine)
Most other Yam bits can be 'made to fit as well (levers, ignition barrels, brake disks and so on)
Anyone think of anything else else?
Your best bet is to confirm before you buy
